Frank E. Thielman

Frank “Franko” E. Thielman, 67, Superior, WI resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at his home. He was born on April 29, 1953 in Grand Forks, ND to Walter and Frances (Richter) Thielman.

He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1971. Frank served his country in the United States Army. Frank was a member of the Boilermakers Union and worked for Stack Brothers for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed many fishing trips to Alaska, deer hunting, and camping at Fond Du Lac Campground.

Frank is survived by his partner, Jamie Olson, Superior, WI; sister, Beverly Boggess, Superior, WI; brother, Leon (Jody) Thielman, AR and several nieces, nephews and many special friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Charlotte Willis, Geraldine Oas, Judy Wuori and Darlene Peterson, brother, Donald Thielman and brother-in-law Raymond Boggess.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday February 13, 2021 at the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 1:00 PM funeral service with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski (of St. Francis Xavier Church) officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Superior, WI with Military Honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean Verlennich, Mike Peterson, Zack Lieble, Dave Davenport, Matt Manning and Jerry Pfeffer.

*Due to Covid restrictions, the family requests that only close family and friends attend.
