Gail M. Anderson

Gail M. Anderson, 90, resident of Superior, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Twin Ports Health in Superior, with her family by her side.

She was born in Iron River, WI on January 21, 1935. She married Harvey C. Anderson, and they celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage before his passing in 2015.

Gail graduated from the former Central High School in Superior, class of 1952. She later attended the University of Wisconsin Superior, earning her bachelor's degree in education. She worked at Cathedral school in Superior for many years, as well as the Wausau and Washburn school districts.

Gail is survived by her sons Tim (Janet) Anderson, David (Cheryl) Anderson, and Derek Anderson; daughters Dawn (Rick) Karlon and Paula Anderson; grandchildren Neal (Cheryl) Anderson, Mandy (Luke) Thompson, Kaitlyn Anderson, Aeris Buss, Jeff Koenen (Ashley), Brennan (Angie) DeBeir, Tate (Seth) Lithgow, Leah Karlon, Bryce Karlon (Emma), and Alison Gondik; ten great-grandchildren; special cousin Velvet Rantala; and her beloved feline companion, Puss & Boots aka “Kitty.”

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband; her mother Inez; stepfather Ted Podlewski.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Twin Ports Health, for the wonderful care they provided Gail.

Per Gail’s wishes, no public service will be held. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
