Gary C. "Doc" Soliday

Gary C. “Doc” Soliday, 76, longtime Superior resident, died unexpectedly of a heart attack, Saturday, March 19, 2022. He was born in Barron, WI, April 24, 1945, to Charles and Eleanor (Conrad) Soliday.

He graduated from Rice Lake (WI) High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. While attending UWS, Doc was a member and officer of the TKE Fraternity.

Doc was united in marriage to Patricia Wasserman on August 9, 1969, and they celebrated 52 years of marriage before his passing.

He was a salesman for KPR Food Brokers and Gibson Greeting cards. In 1994, Doc joined his wife in co-ownership of P.S. Advertising which they ran successfully together until retiring together in 2021.

Above all, Doc was a loving husband and extraordinary father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his wife, Pattie; daughter Marnie (Todd) Christopherson, their daughter Bailey; daughter Melissa “Mo” (Clint) Riedasch and their children, Ryker and Reese; brother-in-law, Tom (Dorraine) Wasserman; and nephews, Steve, Adam and Caleb Wasserman, Tim Anderson and their families.

He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Rudy Linhart, in-laws Joe and Bette Wasserman, brothers-in-law Steve and Mark Wasserman, nephew Kyle Massey and several close friends.

Doc had an incredible love of fishing, animals, and his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM, Monday, March 28, 2022, at the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior.

Visitation will resume at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at United Presbyterian Church, 229 N. 28 ^th Street, Superior. A celebration of life will begin at 12 noon with Gary Banker officiating.
