Gary A. Galliford

Gary A. Galliford, 65, of Stillwater, MN lost his battle with cancer Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Minneapolis, MN. Gary was born May 31, 1951 to John “Jack” and Ruth Galliford.

He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1969, and served his country in the United States Army. Gary was employed with the Department of Transportation for many years. He was a life member of the V.F.W. #847 and the American Legion in Stillwater, MN.

Gary loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid pool player, and won many competitive tournaments around the country. Gary was a sports fan. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Twins. He enjoyed riding Harley’s and took many road trips around the country throughout his lifetime. Gary also enjoyed blues music and loved animals.

He is survived by his fiancé, Kathy Mielke, Stillwater, MN; three daughters, Sara (Ben) Niedfeldt, Denver, CO, Karla Galliford, Bend, OR and Deanna (Sean) Oswald, Superior, WI; grandson, Keagan Rice; sister Gail (Dick) Hoffman, Superior, WI.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Guy Galliford.

A Celebration of Gary Galliford’s life will be from 1:30 – 4:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Top Hat Tavern, 705 Tower Avenue, Superior, where military honors will be accorded at 2:00 PM.
