Gary E. Liska

Gary E. Liska, 67, longtime area resident, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at his home in South Range, WI.

He was born in Chicago, IL on December 5, 1955, the son of Edward and Dolores Liska.

Gary graduated from Northwestern High School in Maple, Wi and went on to serve his country honorably as a Sargent first class in the United States Army.

He was united in marriage to Diane McGrew on March 17, 2015, and they celebrated eight years of marriage before his passing.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, and he especially enjoyed a good game of Yahtzee! Above all, Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Dianne Liska, South Range, WI; daughter, Sara Liska; stepdaughters, Debbie (Ron) Tyson, Michelle Hill, and Dawn (Andy) Schnepper; stepsons, Frank (Jody) Schwirtz, and Tyrone (Jennifer) Tharge; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Donald Liska, and his parents.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior, and will continue until the Time of Remembrance at 2:00 PM with Gary Banker as officiant.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
