Gary J. Scharhag

Gary J. Scharhag, 67, Duluth resident, died Monday, March 28, 2016 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior. He was born on March 19, 1949 in Superior, WI to Walter and Delores (Herubin) Scharhag.

He was a graduate from the former Central High School in Superior. Gary served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Gary was a supervisor for the United States Postal Service for over twenty years retiring in 2004.

He was a member of the St. Francis Travel Club and the World of Wheels Car Association. He loved to travel and was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He also was a very devoted son.

Gary is survived by numerous cousins and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church officiating.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior.
