Genevieve T. Sheahan, 97, longtime resident of Superior, WI, died peacefully Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Superior Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Defiance, IA, April 28, 1924.
Genevieve graduated high school and worked as a cosmetologist for several years. She especially enjoyed her years at home raising her family.
Genevieve was proud of her catholic faith. She was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church in Superior and the Catholic Daughters of America Court 1190 and was very proud to have sent both of her children to Cathedral School. She loved politics and, above all, loved her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
Genevieve is one of twelve children; sisters, Dorthy, Jean, Peggy, Marie, Josephine, and Cecilia; and brothers, Leonard, Martin, Leo, Lawrence, and Cletus.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence Sheahan, Superior, WI; daughter, Diane Mary Smith, Lake Nebagamon, WI; five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Sheahan.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior and will continue until the 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as Celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
