Genevieve Smith O'Toole

September 22, 1926 — March 4, 2019

Genevieve Smith O’Toole, 92, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019. She was born September 22, 1926, the daughter of John M. and Lena (Flemming) Smith.

Genevieve Smith O’Toole grew up in Superior. She graduated from St. Anthony grade school and East High school in Superior and from Strayer College in Washington, DC. While growing up she always assumed great responsibilities by taking care of her younger brothers and sister, she also delivered newspapers on her paper route and she worked at Waletzkos bowling alleys in various roles. At East High she was editor of the 1944 yearbook. She was very athletic and participated in all the girls’ sports.

Genevieve is the beloved mother of Eileen O'Toole, Timothy O'Toole, Larry O'Toole and Christopher O'Toole. Also survived by brother, Dennis Smith; sister, Judy Markfelt and two grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday May 25, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2316 E. 4 th Street, Superior, with a visitation to begin at 10:00 a.m. Rev Fr. James Tobolski will celebrate the Mass.
