George Richard Ranua, 67 of Superior Wi passed peacefully Sunday, May 11, 2025. He was born June 1, 1957 in Duluth to Richard Ranua and Patricia Ranua (Later Schmitt).
After graduating from Duluth Central, he went on to work in the trades at Sandberg Sheetmetal, Lakehead Sign & Painting and at St Germaine’s as a glazer.
Through Alcoholics Anonymous George celebrated 28 years of sobriety, also guiding numerous members on their journey to sobriety.
George was known in the Hot Rod Car communities locally and throughout the US as George built cars throughout his whole life. His love of building cars came from his father Richard who passed unexpectedly when George was 10. He is also preceded in death by his mother, stepfather Ronald Schmitt, and his brother Joseph.
George leaves behind his son, daughter, granddaughters, many who he cared for like family, and many who cared for him the same.
