Gerald Charles Bolin, 81, lifelong resident of Superior, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, December 9, 2018. He was born in Superior March 29, 1937, the son of Thomas and Helen Bolin.
Jerry was very close to his brother, Jim, who owns Presidents Liquor and One Stop, and worked with him there from 1959-1979. Jerry was the owner of Superior Shooters Supply which he operated since 1976. He was the president and founder of the Hawthorne Trap and Wildlife Club. He was a life member on the Board of Directors of the Superior Trap Club.
Jerry’s passion was trap shooting, hunting, and fishing. He hunted with his brother, Jim, on the family farm for many years. He also enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, Ozzy and Jarad. He loved listening to Johnny Cash, watching Viking football and the Minnesota Twins.
The brothers attended church together at Christ Lutheran Church in Superior.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James (Carol) Bolin; his daughter, Sandra; sons, Charles, Tom and George; four grandchildren, Brian, Tiffany, Ozzy and Jarad; three great-grandchildren; and his niece, Patti (Dale Rose) Ayotte, and two nephews, Terry and Jim Bolin, and other relatives and friends.
He will be sadly missed by his family and many lifelong friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his niece, Lori Bolin; and infant daughter, Linda Helen Bolin.
Private family services will be held, Thursday, December 13, 2018 with Pastor David Shoessow officiating. Following the service, the family will be hosting a reception to celebrate Jerry’s life at VIP, 1201 Tower Avenue, Superior, at 1:00 PM.
Burial will be in Nemadji Cemetery in Superior.
