Geraldine Berthiaume, 83, lifelong Superior resident, died peacefully Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior.
She was born on April 15, 1930 to Hans and Olive (Benson) Skustad.
Geraldine graduated from the former Central High School.
She was employed as a secretary for Central United Methodist Church.
Geraldine was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Lady Elks #403 and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She was the most beautiful person both inside and out. She was the happiest when surrounded by family—family meant everything to her.
Geraldine is survived by two daughters, Susan Hunter and Mary Kay VanDamme, both of Superior; three sons, Gregory Berthiaume, Superior, Michael Berthiaume, Tecate, Mexico and Patrick (Catherine) Berthiaume, Superior; ten grandchildren, Kelly (Chris) Tipton and Brian (Megan) Berthiaume; Gregory, Mathew, and Breanna Berthiaume; Ronni (Dean Sr.) Wick; Caitlyn Fields; Kristy, Michael, and Patrick VanDamme; four great-grandchildren, Amanda, Dean Jr., Jonathon and Juliann Wick; one sister Lynnette Casale, Kennewick, OR; one brother, Russell (Darleen) Skustad, Dundee, OR and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son Fred Berthiaume, Jr; her parents and former husband and father of her children, Fred Berthiaume, Sr.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church in Superior with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci, as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Geraldine’s family would like to thank the staff at Villa-Marina and St. Luke’s Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Geraldine and her family.
