Geraldine "Gerry" Mae Serre

Geraldine “Gerry” Mae Serre, 87, South Range, WI resident, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Middle River Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on April 9, 1927 in Superior, WI to John E. “Buzzy” and Helen (Bergren) Jones.

Geraldine graduated from Poplar High School in Poplar, WI.

She was employed at Waukesha Centrifugal for many years.

She married Lester V. Serre on May 12, 1951 in Cloquet, MN and they celebrated sixty-one years of marriage before his passing in November of 2012.

She enjoyed reading, traveling, driving, watching her birds and spending time with her family.

Geraldine is survived by three daughters, RoseMarie (Russ) Koth, Slinger, WI, Dorothy Mae (Jeff) Lentz, Maple, WI and Margy (Jim) Stuart, Hartland, WI; one son, Lester J. (Michelle) Serre, Fairchild, WI; seven grandchildren, Nicole Nelson, Philip Koth, Valerie Koth, Devrey Smith, Stephen Koth, Andrew Koth and Danielle Mae Strong; fourteen great-grandchildren, Aidan, Teagan, Addison, Dane, Seth, Gabe, Sophia Mae, Erik, John, Tequan, Alyssa Geraldine, Ethan, Finley Mae and Parker; one sister, Dorothy (Ed) Muha, Superior, WI and one brother, Ted (Donna) Jones, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 16, 2015 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, 4315 E. 3rd Street, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Leon Flaherty as celebrant.

Burial will be in Poplar Cemetery in Poplar, WI.

Pallbearers for the service will be Geraldine’s grandchildren and Tom Peterman will be recognized as an honorary pallbearer.

Geraldine’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the wonderful care Geraldine received during her stay at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.
