Gerda E. Eliason

Gerda E. Eliason, 91, longtime Superior resident, died peacefully, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Essentia Health – Miller Dwan in Duluth, MN. She was born in Germany January 10, 1930, the daughter of R. Scherra and Kathe (Hubner) Scherra.

Gerda was united in marriage to Donald E. Eliasson in Berlin, Germany on November 7, l953 and they celebrated 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2015.

Gerda was a compassionate and generous mother and loved spending time with her three sons, grandchildren, fishing and camping with her husband Donald. Gerda gave selflessly throughout her homemaker years welcoming all into her home. She took great pride in helping raise all of her grandchildren. She encouraged education, kindness, and generosity throughout her life. She was a member of the PT A and a school volunteer for many years.

Gerda was loving wife, .mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by her sons, Edward (Chelle) Eliason, and Steven Eliason; grandchildren, Brent Eliason, Cristie (Darren) Gordon, Andrew Eliason, Jaeden Eliason, Hayden and Regan Bakke; and great-grandsons, Eli and Noah Gordon.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald; son, Raymond Eliason; and her parents.

Public services will not be held at this time.
