Gertrud "Trudy" Bergren

Gertrude “Trudy” Bergren, 83, Superior resident, died Monday, January 9, 2017 at her home. She was born on June 12, 1933 in Augsburg, Germany to George and Anna (Bosch) Saur.

Trudy was a waitress working at The Patio and The Hammond Steakhouse for many years and for over thirty years at The Shack Supper Club. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and the Homemakers Club of Superior.

Trudy is survived by three daughters, Helen Newman and Harriet (Earl) Braman, both of Superior, WI and Marianne (Jim Crotty) Bergren, Hermantown, MN; two sons, Gene (Barb) Bergren, South Range, WI and John Bergren, Superior, WI; thirteen grandchildren, Shay (Ann) Newman, Kira (Aaron) Rank, Melissa (Chad) Thompson, Leah (Brandon) Ahlborg, Brittany (Shawn) Sands, David (Mandy) Braman, Tawney (Eric) Kirchner, Steve (Kelly) Braman, Erin (Ashley) Douglas, Ali (Ryan) Sura, Carly (Andrew) Niichel, Megan (Kyle) Peterson and Macey Magdzas and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene in 1995, grandson Matthew (April) Magdzas and great-granddaughters Lila and Anna Magdzas.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2316 E. 4th Street, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.
