Glen A. Carlson, 71, lifelong resident of Superior, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 25, 2023, in his home. He was born on June 20, 1952, the son of William and Hazel Carlson.
He worked for the BNSF Railroad in Superior as a mechanic for many years until his retirement.
Glen was someone who was always busy doing something. You could often find him tinkering, collecting, or fixing various things. Whether it be working on his beloved Camaro that he proudly passed on to his grandson or searching the local garage sales for a treasure to add to his collections. He also enjoyed going for rides around town, visiting with his brother in Hawthorne, WI, and stopping at the former East End Café where he met Cindy who became a close companion for many years. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing with his friends and daughter off the shores of Lake Superior. Above all, Glen loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren, and he will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Johnson (Jason Seikkula); grandchildren Joshua Johnson Jr. and Grace Barbara Johnson; brothers Garry (Gail) Carlson and Clarence “Trigger” (Donna) Carlson; special friend Cindy Spiering; nieces and nephews Cindy Carlson, Jeff Carlson, Theresa Clemmer (Steve), Mike (Bonnie) Carlson, Heather (Damian) Bjerketvedt, Jamie Carlson; and many great nieces and nephews as well as one great great nephew.
Glen is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara; son Glen Jr; brother William (Darlene) Carlson; and his parents William and Hazel.
