Grant Johnson

Grant L. Johnson, 63, Poplar, died unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, December 5, 2009. He was born on February 13, 1946 in Superior to Lester and Elizabeth (Carter) Johnson.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam Conflict.
He was employed as an operator for Enbridge for many years.
Grant was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and he served on the board for Security State Bank in Iron River, WI. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sportsman, enjoying basketball, football and NASCAR.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Johnson, Port Wing, WI; two sisters, Marie (James) Harris, Superior, Rita Johnson, Ashland; three brothers, LeRoy Johnson, Superior, Russell Johnson, Port Wing, WI, Dean Johnson, Washburn, WI and two nieces, Sheila Mezori, Scottsdale, AZ and Mary Taurinskas, Mendota Heights, MN.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM and will continue until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service on Thursday, December 10, 2009 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, Superior, WI. Pastor Sarah Larsen of Our Savior's Lutheran Church will officiate.
