Greg M. Peterson

Greg Marvin Peterson (70), longtime Superior resident, died Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN. He was born on December 16, 1952, in Duluth, MN, the son of Ronald M. and Patricia (DeMoure) Peterson.

Greg served his country honorably in the U. S. Army. In October 1974, he wed Diane Johnson and they celebrated 48 years of marriage. Together they raised two sons.

He was a member of Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435. He celebrated his faith at Cathedral of Christ the King. Greg enjoyed fishing with his brother and friends. Camping with family was always a special time. He loved to travel and seek adventure. Greg will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Greg is survived by his wife, Diane Peterson, Superior; sons Greg (Cheryl) Peterson, Virginia, MN; Brandon (Kristin) Peterson, Superior; grandchildren, Teanna, Chelsea, Keyera, and Valo; sister Gail (Mike) Kuhlman, brother Gene (Jackie) Peterson, mother, Patricia Peterson; many nieces and nephews and faithful canine companion, Ruby.

He is preceded in death by his father Ronald Peterson, brother Gary DeMoure; and sister Gena Casey.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 7, at Holy Assumption Catholic Church in Superior, followed by an 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

Inurnment will take place at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery-Duluth, 4777 US 53, Saginaw, MN.
