Gregory James Alho, age 71, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at his home in Brookings, SD. He was born in Superior, WI on January 30, 1947 to Jack and Agnes (Osmond) Alho. He was the youngest of two children, and much to his sister's dismay, the more mischievous of the two.
He went to St. Louis Grade School and was a graduate of Cathedral High School in 1965 and attended Superior State University. He entered into the United States Army with the 133rd Medical Group in January of 1967 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge at the rank of SP5 back to the Twin Ports in January of 1973.
He continued his work in the medical field where he met his first love, Audrey Williams. They were married on November 16, 1974 and had two children, who, much to their dismay shared the same stubborn and mischievous ways as their father. Shortly after, Gregg became a laboratory technician at American Milk Producers Inc. in Duluth, MN. The family moved to Chippewa Falls, WI in the spring of 1990 when Gregg was offered a job within AMPI at Jim Falls, WI. Another transfer within the company led the family to New Ulm, MN in December of 1999 where he stayed until July of 2018, when he moved to Brookings, SD to be closer to his daughter, Tammie.
In 9th grade, Gregg started a card club with a few of his best friends and throughout the years, Gregg maintained that close friendship spending many evenings with the gang known as his "card buddies". While more docile than a typical gang, their poker playing skills earned them much respect in "da hood". He's also known among his friend as the box hockey champion, though wasn't quite as lucky in racquetball. Gregg was also an avid sports fan, especially for the Green Bay Packers.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Agnes Alho, sister Sr. Bonnie Alho, wife Audrey Alho, many beloved cousins and friends, and every terrible "dad joke" he's ever told.
Gregg is survived by his partner, Victoria Landgren, son, Kieran Alho of Seattle, WA, daughter, Tammie (Brian) Mohr of Brookings, SD, many beloved cousins and friends, along with a zombie-apocalypse worthy stash of extension cords, pens, paper plates, and Diet Mountain Dew.
