Gregory A. Olson

Gregory Alan Olson, 63, of San Diego, CA, died on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in California.

Gregory was born December 30, 1958, in Oakland, CA, the son of Gerald and Sharon (Wohlwend) Olson.

Gregory was a proud graduate of St. Augustine High School in San Diego, CA. He was an outdoorsman who loved to trap and fish and a collector of many things, in particular old Mason jars. He especially loved the family cabin on Lake Vermilion where in his youth he spent his time swimming, fishing, looking for signs of deer and building forts with his siblings. Gregory was a music lover, an explorer, and a resilient survivor.

Gregory is survived by his parents, Gerald and Sharon Olson, San Diego, CA; sisters, Beth Ann (Randy) Severin, Superior, WI and Susan (Kevin) Mikel Foxboro, WI; brothers, Leonard Olson, Foxboro, WI and Roger Olson, San Diego, CA, and nieces and nephews, Eric and Robert Severin, Kathryn Williams, Helen Pompeian, Carolyn Olson, and Steven, Gerald, Richard and Daniel Mikel.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward, and Marie Olson; and his maternal grandparents, John, and Blanche Wohlwend.

In this time of great sadness our world is a quieter place, and our hearts are missing Gregory.

A private family visitation followed by a private family graveside service was held for Gregory with Rev. Andrew Ricci presiding.

The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street in Superior, assisted the family with arrangements. The family would especially like to thank Jody Tetzlaff for his invaluable assistance.
