Harold C. Becker, 95, Superior resident, died on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 (his birthday) at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Superior, WI. He was born on January 30, 1924 to Carl and Nelda (Muehl) Becker in Saxon, WI.
Harold graduated from Saxon High School in 1942. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He served in France, Normandy, Rhineland and Central Europe.Harold was an engineer for the Burlington Northern Railroad for many years.
He was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Eagles Aerie #80 and the American Legion in West Duluth. Harold enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing black jack. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan.
Harold is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Becker and John H. (Karen) Becker; longtime special friend, Sandy Marczak and Pat Archambeault and family whom he loved very much. He is preceded in death by his wife Audrey.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant. Military Honors will be accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard following the Mass.Burial will be in Oneota Cemetery in Duluth, MN.
