Harvey L. Rath

September 16, 1925 — November 18, 2015

Harvey L. Rath, 90, South Range, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on September 16, 1925 in Ladysmith, WI to Henry and Helen (Prozinski) Rath.

He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.

Harvey was employed as a highway superintendent for James Peterson Construction for 40 years before retiring in 1990.

Following his retirement, Harvey loved woodworking. He built furniture, cabinets and did remodeling for family and friends.

He was a member of the road builders union. He was an avid Packer fan, he was always willing to help anyone that needed it and had a heart as big as Lambeau Field. He loved to pass time by hanging out with his friends at the Middle River Bar.

Harvey is survived by a son, Harvey (Darla) Rath, Jr., Henderson, KY; a step-daughter, Karen (James) Wanserski, Milwaukee, WI; six grandchildren, Dillon Rath, Jennifer Rideout, Jamie Hicks, James Wanserski, Jr., Michelle Deitrich, Vicky Alexander; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Knable, Milwaukee, WI, Harriet Deldotto, Chicago, IL and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Harry, Carl and Earl Rath and three sisters, Adeline Garstanbrand, Helen Schindler and Gretchen Ogel.

There was a Time of Remembrance held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Middle River Bar.

Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
