Heather Willoughby

Heather Annette Willoughby, 31, of Superior, was called to heaven Sunday, April 18, 2010 following a car accident in Isanti, MN.

She was born July 11, 1978 in Hayward, WI to James and Janice (Gibis) Willoughby. She attended school in Burnsville, MN and graduated from Washington High School, Sioux Falls, SD. She attended South Dakota State University on a 4-year scholarship.


Heather was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Superior. She enjoyed movies, fishing, hunting, photography, knitting and spending time with her nephews. She was a gentle, loving person who always put others first. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Heather is survived by her parents, James and Janice Willoughby, Sioux Falls, SD; three brothers, Vince (Sheila Hwang) Willoughby, their son Maxwell, Kirkwood, MO; Mark (Jennifer) Willoughby, their sons Alex, Ben and Luke, Hermantown, MN; Brock Willoughby, Sioux Falls, SD and his son, Hunter of Sioux Falls, SD; half-sister Tracy Wallschlaeger, Seattle, WA; her paternal grandmother, Marie Willoughby, Iron River, WI; special aunts, uncles, cousins and her very close friend, Vern Blakey of Superior, WI.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, George Willoughby of Iron River, WI and her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Hazel Gibis of Saint Paul, MN.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Superior, WI. Pastor Sarah Larsen will officiate.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Heather’s favorite charities, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Superior and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
