Helen L. Goligoski 90, a lifelong Superior area resident, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior, WI.
She was born in Superior on August 7, 1921, the daughter of Anthony and Anna (Polacik) Topak.
She graduated from the former Superior Central High School in 1939.
Helen married Theodore J. Goligoski on June 9, 1951 and celebrated twenty-five years of marriage before his passing in 1976.
She is survived by one daughter, Debra A. (Allen Long) Goligoski, Denver, CO; one son, Richard M. (Susan) Goligoski, Riverside, CT and two grandsons, Zachary and Nicholas; and a sister, Tillie Kucharyski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Paul Topak and sisters Mary Ivanich and Ann Jarzynski.
Visitation will begin with a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Rosary at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, in Superior and continue until the 12:00 Noon, Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Father William Murphy as celebrant.
Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
Pallbearers for the service will be William Goligoski, David Neuberger, Zachary and Richard Goligoski.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Helen’s name to St. Mary’s Essentia Health Hospice Unit, Duluth, MN.
The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
