Helen Nedra Hadley

June 29, 1930 — April 6, 2020

Helen Nedra (Norman) Hadley passed away peacefully on April 6, 2020 at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care in Superior, Wisconsin.

She was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Arthur and Roanna Norman on June 29, 1930. She graduated from Rosevelt high school and Grandview College in Des Moines

Helen preferred the name Nedra and that’s what everyone became to know her by. She and her husband Dick raised their two children in Hudson, WI where she was very active in the community. She and Dick were members of the Hudson Country Club. She enjoyed playing golf in the women’s league as well as the couples league. Nedra enjoyed boating the St. Croix river leisurely in the family power boat. She enjoyed drives in the country exploring small town antique shops and wild flowers in bloom. She loved taking old antiques and making them look like new again. She worked at 3M in Woodbury and later became a successful Realtor in Lakeland, MN. On her own, she designed and contracted the building of her custom home in Lakeland. It was a very unique home for its time. After a few years, she moved to Eau Claire, WI where she worked for the legal team in the Eau Claire County Child Services Dept. When she retired she really enjoyed shopping for bargains, having coffee and taking road trips with her friends and neighbors. Nedra moved to northern Wisconsin to be near her daughter Dana. Nedra and Dana travelled extensively throughout northern Wisconsin and Minnesota when given the opportunity. She loved the colors and the sounds in nature. They also enjoyed picnics on their journeys just like Nedra’s mother and father used to do.

Nedra is survived by her younger sister, Maryanne (husband Dan) Jones of Austin, TX, her son Gregory (wife Kelly), daughter Dana Hodowanic, and Greg’s son Field (wife Liz) and his children Hailey, Lorelai and Porter.

Arrangements made by Lenroot-Maetzold funeral home in Superior, WI. No formal funeral service will be held. Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is hosting www.lenroot-maetzold.com/ for friends and relatives to leave celebration of life stories as to her legacy. Nedra’s cremains burial next to her parents in Osage, MN is yet to be scheduled.
