Helen Susan Maul

Helen Susan Maul, 45, longtime resident of Superior, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 22, 2018. She was born in Duluth, MN, August 17, 1972, the daughter of Robert C. and Soon Ja (Kwon) Olsen.

After graduating high school, Helen went on to receive her associates degree as a Paralegal, and for many years she worked in the Clerk of Courts office, and more recently, in the Register of Deeds office in Superior.

Helen enjoyed camping, traveling and music. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter, Kya. She also enjoyed running and participated in many marathons.

She is survived by her sons, Damien Maul, Duluth, MN and Jack Christiansen, Superior; brothers, Tony So, Forest Lake, MN and Robert Leo Olsen, White Bear Lake, MN; boyfriend, Brian Lisdahl, Superior; parents, Robert and Soon Ja Olsen, Sandstone, MN; and granddaughter, Kya Maul.

She is preceded in death by her infant son, Zachary Donald.

A Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Helen’s Life will be held from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM, Tuesday, May 29, 2018, in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior.

Inurnment will take place at a later date in Bruno, MN.
