Helen L. Miller, 95, Superior resident, passed away peacefully at Golden Living Center in Superior on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. She was born on March 11, 1921 in Duluth, MN to Harold and Amanda (Johnson) Peterson.
She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1940.
Helen worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company and was a sales clerk at Orecks in Duluth.
She married Donald R. Miller on November 28, 1946 and they celebrated nearly fifty-two years of marriage.
Helen was an active member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church as a volunteer, choir, member of PLCW and played the hand bells. She also was a hospital volunteer and member of the Fairlawn Auxiliary.
Helen is survived by sons, Donald R. (Jean) Jr., Jeffery A. (Carol); grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Heidi (Michael) Wherland with Frederick, Matthew (Yovaly) with Ethan and Natalie, Amy (Erik) Gilbertson with Anders and Tuomi and Mark (Noelle) with Nicholas and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings, Herbert “Bud” Peterson, Dorothy MacMillan, Marge Mallen, Marion Beyer and Ronald W. Peterson and a grandson Timothy Miller.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior.
Visitation will resume on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Pastor Will Mowchan officiating.
Burial will be in Oneota Cemetery in Duluth.
Pallbearers for the service will be Larry and Wayne Peterson, Jerry MacMillan, Terry Davis, Greg and Billy Beyer and Mark and Matthew Miller.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Helen’s name to St. Scholastica, 1200 Kenwood Avenue, Duluth, MN 55811 in care of the Timothy Martin Miller Memorial Fund.
