Helen E. Stichman

Helen E. Stichman, 92, lifelong Superior resident, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Golden Living Center of Superior.

She was born in Superior on October 23, 1918 to Samuel and Helen (Brown) Stichman.

She was employed with the State of Wisconsin Unemployment office in Superior for many years retiring as manager.

Helen was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ladies of St. Anthony’s, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1190, Superior Women’s Club and the Fairlawn Museum Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sisters, Doris Harrington and Geraldine Grein, both of Superior; four nieces, Holly (Michael) McLean, Superior, Kathy (Steven) Osterhaus, Sister Bay, WI, Patsy Erickson, Cotton, MN, Donna Grein, Lamy, NM; several grand-nieces and one grand-nephew.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mae Erickson; three brothers, Samuel, Gerald and Robert Stichman and one nephew, William Grein.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 26, 2011 until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Don Kania, as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

Helen’s family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center and Essentia Health Hospice for the care they gave to Helen and her family.
