Helen "Teddy" Tacke

Helen “Teddy” Tacke, 86, longtime Superior area resident, died on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Maple, Wisconsin on May 31, 1924, the daughter of Eric and Mary (Saari) Mattson.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Superior Chapter, O.F.S.

She loved traveling with her husband Gene and spending time with family and friends.

Helen is survived by one son Gene (Margilyn) Tacke, Duluth, MN; one daughter, Mary (Mitch) Luther, Greenboro, NC; two grandchildren Chris Luther, Greensboro, NC, Mark Luther, Seoul, Korea; one sister, Marcella Mattson, Maple, WI; one brother, Arthur “Marvin” Mattson, Duluth, MN and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene on November 16, 2005.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home.

Pastor Patrick Ziems, of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
