Helen V. Wilgren, age 93, Madison, WI, formerly of Superior WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2011, in Madison with her family at her side.
Helen was born on July 22, 1918, in Superior, where she graduated from high school and went on to receive bachelors and masters degrees in education from University of Wisconsin-Superior.
She was an elementary school teacher for many years, and in her long life, she was also a waitress, welder, business owner, and nurse.
She was a brilliant determined, opinionated and loving person, whose memory will be cherished forever.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Patricia Murphy, Minneapolis, MN; her sons, William (Karin) Murphy, Colorado Springs, CO, and Robert Arseneau, Madison, WI; her grandsons, Terrence (Priya) O'Brien, Timothy (Emily) O'Brien, and Brendan (Elizabeth) O'Brien, all of Minneapolis, MN, and Jeffrey Murphy and Bradley Murphy, both of Colorado Springs, CO; and four great-grandsons.
Visitation will begin at 12 Noon until the 1:00 PM Funeral service on Saturday, November 19, 2011 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home. Rev. Fr. James Tobolski of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church will officiate.
