Henry S. Biesiada, 88, longtime Superior resident, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
He was born on August 24, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Stanley and Genevieve (Dec) Biesiada.
Henry was a Carman for the Burlington Northern and Great Lakes Northern Railroads for thirty years retiring in 1982.
He married Ann Winek on April 7, 1945 in Superior and just recently celebrated sixty-seven years of marriage.
He was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and the Polish National Alliance.
Henry loved woodworking and enjoyed traveling with his wife Ann.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; son, Henry (Arlene) Biesiada, Hamburg, WI; daughter, Sharon (Dennis) LaValley, Superior, WI; brother-in-law, Louis Winek, Detroit, MI; six grandchildren, Cory, Christie, Jody, Becky, Shawn and Dustin and nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, John Kopaciski, sisters-in-law, Mary Lundeen and Irene Winek and brother-in-law, Joe Winek.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
Pallbearers for the service will be Shawn and Dustin LaValley, Jim Lundeen, Cory Biesiada, John Lundeen and Lance Lindahl.
The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
