Herman Francis Tomzak, 83, longtime Superior resident, passed away on April 15, 2010 in Panama City Beach, FL.
Herman was born and raised in Superior.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the Thomas F. Stein, VFW Post #1091.
He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Panama City Beach, FL.
He had a passion for golfing, playing bridge with his wife, Barbara, and he loved his cat, Sammy.
Herman is survived by three children, Thomas (Suzanne) Tomzak, Fredericksburg, VA; Patrick (Earlene) Tomzak, Elyria, OH; Susan (Joe) Van Vynckt, Superior; five step-children, Mignon (John) Boykin, Lafayette, LA; Michael (Mary Ann) Navarre, Peachtree City, GA; Lisa (Bruce) Williams, Panama City, FL; DeeDee (Troy) Harris, Panama City, FL; Nicole (Greg) Neubeck, Las Vegas, NV; eighteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernard Tomzak, Superior, WI and his extended family at Portside Condos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Jessie Tomzak; his first wife Patricia Culhane and his second wife, Barbara Hanson.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass on Friday, June 25, 2010 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James Tobolski, pastor, will be celebrant
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery where Military
Honors will be accorded by the Superior Combined Honor Guard.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
