Ida Mae Peterson

Ida Mae Peterson, 88, longtime area resident died, Sunday, December 25, 2022, at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Hospital in Superior, WI. She was born August 4, 1934, in Danbury, WI, the daughter of Herman and Mary Shaul.

Ida Mae worked as a cook at local restaurants. Bingo at the Moose Club and Belgian Club were evenings not to be missed. She loved listening to music, singing and playing piano. Knitting and crocheting kept her busy as did cooking for her family. Above all her family came first. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Catherine (Gregory) Hunter, Superior, WI; sons, Gerald Peterson, and Frank (Susan) Peterson, Superior WI; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jodi) Hunter, Maryland; Jennifer (Chad) Bryant, Saginaw, MN; Donald James Peterson, Eau Claire, WI; and five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Ida’s Life will be held 2-4:00 PM, Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior with a Memorial Service to begin at 3:30 PM with Pastor Victor St. George officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior at a later date.
