Inez Berglund

March 28, 1921 — August 22, 2015

Inez Berglund passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She was born March 28, 1921, to Alfred and Mary Esselstrom in the Town of Lakeside.

Inez graduated from the former East High School in Superior and made her home in the Lakeside area her entire life.

She worked for the Douglas County Agricultural Office, helped run the family farm in Lakeside and the Berglund Store on Highway 13. Inez was later employed as a nurse at the Parkland Health Facility.

She greatly enjoyed the years Rob, Janeen, and Craig Haglund lived as part of the family.

She was a life-long, active member of the Lakeside Baptist Church. Inez lived a full life of hard work, wit and common sense, love for family and friends, care of animals, and enduring faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Berglund, four brothers: Werner, Enoch, Gideon and Melvin Esselstrom, and four sisters: Jenny Kraft, Alice Kjellman, Bertha King, and Nancy Rautio.

She will be greatly missed by a son Robin (Marlene) Berglund, daughters Joanne (Jerry) Nykanen and Susan (Craig) Anderson, sister-in-law Lois (Edgar) Berglund, her ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and a special niece, Anita Pearson.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 29, at the Lakeside Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Ells officiating. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM with the funeral service following at 11:00.

Inez's grandchildren will be recognized as pallbearers.

Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery.
