Irene Cole

Irene Cole, 91, Superior, died Monday, March 7, 2011 in Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital, Superior.

She was born on December 23, 1919 in Lake Nebagamon, WI to Nicklas and Lydia (Mattson) Abrahamson.

She was employed as a secretary for Pure Oil for many years.

Irene attended Country Peace Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed golfing, baking, crocheting, playing cards, reading, snowmobiling, trout fishing and she especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by two sisters, Illie Markon, South Range, Elaine DeBrock, Rhinelander, WI; two brothers Leonard Abrahamson, Iron River, Sonny Abrahamson, Superior and several nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Ingrid Peterson, Inga West and Ina Halverson and one brother, Arne Abrahamson.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Country Peace Presbyterian Church with Pastor Richard Blood, officiating.

Inurnment will be in Lake Nebagamon Cemetery at a later date.
