Irene C. Jaros

Irene C. Jaros, 89, lifelong Superior resident, died Monday, February 1, 2010 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.

She was born on March 21, 1920 in Superior, WI to Anthony and Pelagia (Shefchuk) Osacho.

Irene was the owner/manager and hairdresser of Irene’s Beauty Chalet and lifelong musician.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Musicians Local.

Irene is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Androsky, Superior, WI and a step-son, Dennis (Ellen) Jaros, Las Vegas, NV and; grandchildren, Jamie (Deborah) Androsky, Billie Jo (Lorne) Wendt, both of Superior, WI, Frank Androsky, Minneapolis, MN and Brian (Kelly) Jaros, of CO; great-grandchildren, Logan, Van, Sydnie, Justin, Ryan, Page, Blaise and Ann; sister, Genevieve Newman, Eugene, OR and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Zenon, granddaughter, Denise Jaros, brothers and sisters, Ann, Stephanie, Dolly, Walter, Emil, Frances and Stella, her parents, Anthony and Pelagia Osacho.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 4, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and will continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Donald Kania as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jamie and Frank Androsky, Lorne Wendt, Emil Osacho, Jonathan Behaylo and Tony Jaros.

The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
