Irene "Renie" Nollet

February 21, 1937 — February 29, 2016

Irene “Renie” Nollet, 79, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 29, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. She was born on February 21, 1937 in Superior, WI to George and Agnes (Touve) Wallace.

She graduated from high school in Iron River and attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

Renie was an artist, some of her many talents during her professional career were cake decorating, floral design and caregiver. She loved restoring antique prints and frames and created “treasures” from vintage fabrics. Her gardens were special to her with generations of baby rabbits born by the lettuce. She loved her feathered friends and especially a gray squirrel she called “Demolition”. Most of all, she valued time with her family. We will miss mom’s sense of humor, fairness and loving ways.

Renie is survived by two sons, Jon (Vickey Menton) Sanders, Solon Springs, WI and Mark (Sandy Nelson) Sanders, Superior, WI; two daughters, Angela Haworth, Superior, WI and Julie (John) Sweeney, Foxboro, WI; five grandchildren, Daniell LaPorte, Allen Haworth, Joanne Sanders, Jon Sanders and Marla Schier; four great-grandchildren, Madison “Maddie” Rhodes, River Schier, Carter Quinn and California “Cali” Schier; one sister, Ivy Wallace; two brothers, Leonard and David Wallace; several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Eldon Sanders, second husband Bill Nollet and her longtime companion Earl Forslund, sister Georgene Wall and brother Daniel Wallace.

As per Irene’s wishes, private memorial services will be held at a later date.
