James E. Bichanich

James E. “Jim” Bichanich, 81, longtime resident of Solon Springs, WI, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

He was born in Benoit, WI on August 23, 1942, the son of Matt and Petra (Raich) Bichanich.

Jim was united in marriage to Constance “Connie” Dodge on August 29, 1964, and they celebrated fifty-six years of marriage before her passing in 2021.

He was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Maple, WI, and was the sexton and served as a board member for Faith Lutheran Cemetery for many years.

In his spare time, Jim was an avid deer hunter and as a member of several tractor collector clubs, Jim collected and restored old tractors.

Above all, Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be dearly missed by his family. He is survived by his daughters, Carrie Bichanich, Park Falls, WI, Jane (Mike) Slivensky, Bennett, WI, and Alice Greske, Hammond, WI; son, James M. (Darlene) Bichanich, Tacoma, WA; grandchildren, Ryne (Karlie), Victoria, Charlie, Megan, Morgan, Matthew, Autumn, Chelsea, and Alex;  great-grandchildren Linux and Dash; sisters, Pauline Casalaspro, Albuquerque, NM, Mary (Gene) Aina, Ashland, WI, Ann Thull, Siren, WI; brother, Ivan (Dorothy) Bichanich, Janesville, WI; sister-in-law, Barbara Bichanich, Mason, WI; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Kay Johnson and her dog Hope.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Constance “Connie” Bichanich; brothers, Steven, Mike, George, and Robert Moniza, and Paul and Marco Bichanich; sister Mildred Kuchun; and his parents.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Church, 4641 County Road F, Maple, WI, and will continue until the 1:00 PM Funeral Service with Pastor Thomas Von Hagel officiating.

Burial will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be Ronnie Schiff, Jim Bichanich, Ryne Slivensky, Alex Slivensky, Mike Slivensky, and David Bichanich.
