James H. Dobis

James H. Dobis, 69, long time Lake Nebagamon, WI, resident, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018, at his residence. James was born in Minneapolis, MN on December 1, 1948 the son of Alvin and Geraldine (Nuwash) Dobis.

He graduated from Hibbing High School and attended St. Thomas College. He earned his Medical Degree from the UM of Minnesota for family practice, retiring in 2011.   He was employed by the VA in Superior, WI for ten years, the VA in ST. Cloud, MN and a clinic in Buffalo, MN. James had previously worked in the Mines in Hibbing, MN. He was an avid outdoorsman with passions for fishing, hunting, and gardening.

James  is survived by one daughter, Jill (Jason) Mattson, Colfax, WI; two sons, Jason (Terri) Dobis, Spring Creek, NV and Jonathan (Tammy) Dobis, South Haven, MN; eight grandchildren, Ashley Mattson, Makayla Mattson, Janetta Mattson, Joshua Mattson, Violet Dobis, Avery Dobis, Shyan Dobis, and Damen Dobis; his mother, Geraldine Dobis, Hibbing MN; two sisters, Mary (Brian) Rengstorf, Hibbing, MN and Ann (Steve) Albrecht, Hibbing, MN; one brother, Paul (Jill) Dobis, Moorhead, MN and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Dobis; and brother, John Dobis.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th street, Superior, and will continue until the 2:30 PM Memorial Service with Pastor Donna Rutten officiating.
