James E. Homich

James E. Homich, 79, resident of Superior, WI, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born, September 15, 1937 in Superior, the son of Louis and Margaret (Hesselgrave) Homich.

James married Gloria McDonald July 9, 1981 in Superior, and they celebrated thirty-five years of marriage before his passing. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed as a welder with Barko Hydraulics until his retirement in 2001.

James was a former Moose Club member. He was an avid reader and loved to play games, do crosswords, watch Jeopardy, The Price is Right and The Young and The Restless a.ka. “The Old and The Useless” as he would call it. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the UMD Bulldogs, and especially enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Homich; daughters, Shannon Homich, Bobbie Sue (Don) Hackensmith, both of Superior, and Tracy Homich of Arizona; sons, Dale (Judy) Homich and Brett (BJ) Tracy Homich, Superior, WI; grandchildren, Piper, Tapenga, Rafe, Dustin, Channie and Austin; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Tanya; brothers, Thomas and Charles Homich and sister, Barbara Homich.

Per Jim’s request, there will be no burial or services held.
