James "Jim" S. Coda

James “Jim” S. Coda, 61, lifelong Superior resident, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born in Superior July 16, 1957, the son of Anthony “Kitty” and Dorothy (Nadolski) Coda.

Jim grew up in Superior and graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1975. He married the love of his life, Janice, on September 17, 1983, and they had recently celebrated thirty-five years of marriage.

Jim was a truck driver for many years for Petro Choice, formerly known as Anderson Fuel. He was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church in Superior.

Jim was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed basketball and football, and was a lifelong avid Packer and Badger fan. He also enjoyed reading, spending time at their lake home in Solon Springs, playing cards, and he had a great love for music. Jim enjoyed coaching youth sports in Superior, and coached basketball and football for several years.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Coda, Superior, WI; his lovely daughter, Julie (Tim Ayers) Coda, Superior, WI; sons, Andrew (Kristen Lemire) Coda, Duluth, MN, and Patrick Coda, Superior, WI; grandson, Conner; brothers, Anthony (Mary) Coda, Superior, WI, and Pete (Carol) Coda, Tucson, AZ; brother-in-law, William Foerst, Cedarburg, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Janice Marie Foerst.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street, Superior. Visitation will resume at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior, and will continue until the 2:00 PM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
