James "Jim" Misfeldt

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James “Jim” Misfeldt, 82, on Sunday, January 8, 2023. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. Jim was born on September 15, 1940, in Bloomer, WI to Harold and Helen (Sokup) Misfeldt. He spent most of his life as a resident of Superior.

He married his partner in life, Rosemary Curry in 1962 and recently celebrated their 60 ^th wedding anniversary.

Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He also was a successful businessman, filling the roles of Managing Director (Hong Kong) and company Vice President for DSI. He was also the owner of the molded injected plastic company Burell Engineering in Vista, CA. He finished his career as purchasing manager for Barko in Superior.

Jim was an avid Packer, Badger, and Brewer follower and enjoyed nothing more than being with his family and lifelong friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brothers in law Dodie Connolly, Pat (Don) DeMeyer, June (Jack) Braun, Sharon, and Jerry Koenig.

Jim is survived by his wife, Rosie; children Scott (Nancy), Heidi (Jeff Dorfman), and Joel (Dusty); grandchildren, Molly, James, Eiley, Andrea, Cullen, Zachary, Wil, Morgan, Connie, and Macy; great-grandchildren, Isla, Rowen, Jaxson, Della, Levi, Winnie, and Shea; brother Tom (Debra) and sister Rene Koenig; brother-in-law Bill Connolly; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2316 E 4 ^th Street in Superior, at 10:00 AM and will continue until the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.

Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery at a later date.
