James "Jimmy" C. Gray

James “Jimmy” C. Gray left this world to start his new journey with Jesus, after battling cancer. Passing away in loving care at the Solvay Hospice House, in Duluth, MN on Saturday, March 25, 2017. He was 58 years old.Jimmy was one of the most courageous, brave, generous, kind loving souls one could ever have in their lives.

He married Brenda Peterson on December 3, 2015 in Superior, WI. In Brenda’s words as his wife, “I will be forever grateful and honored to have spent all these years with the sweetest man on this earth. I’m so proud of him… Babe, I miss you so much, “My Prince” … I’ll love you always and forever “more”, your Honey “B” and Quinny “our dog”.

Jimmy was born to Cyril “Cy” and Kathryn (Merrick) Gray on March 1, 1959. He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1978 and in 1985 from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a business degree. He was employed at Superior National Bank for many years with his father until Jim’s retirement in 2012.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a former member of Cathedral of Christ Catholic Church. Jimmy loved traveling, fast cars, had a firearms collection and boating.

He is preceded in death by his sister Janet and father Cyril “Cy” Gray.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Brenda; mother, Kathryn, two brothers, Don Gray and Mitch Gray (Dawn) and several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Quin.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and continue until the 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.
