James A. Kaszynski, 69, Spring Valley, IL and Chiang Rai, Thailand, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Solvay Hospice House, Duluth from complications from a previous stroke, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 23, 1945 in LaSalle, IL to Leonard and Ruth (Gress) Kasyznski.
He graduated from L.P. High School in LaSalle, IL.
Jim was employed as an independent salesman. He received his certification in video production from the state of Florida.
While in Thailand, Jim was involved in volunteer work in various orphanages and recovery community. He was a member of the Jaycees while living in Illinois and Arizona. He recently completed the Camino De Santiago Pilgrimage, a 800 kilometer walk from France to Spain.
Jim enjoyed writing and was known as the “Idea Man”.
Jim is survived by one sister, Joy Murphy, Spring Valley, IL; one brother, Bob Kaszynski, Lake Nebagamon and two nieces, Debbie (Adam) Delisi and Kryssi (Chad) Plasch.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
