James Ksicinski

November 11, 1942 — September 7, 2013

James G. Ksicinski, 70, South Range, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.

He was born on November 11, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI to Edward and Mary (Nedza) Ksicinski.

Jim graduated from Boys Tech High School in Milwaukee in 1959. He then went on to serve his country for over thirty-seven years in the United States Army, Air Force and the 148 Fighter Wing, Air National Guard.


He was also employed with the 148th Fighter Wing in Duluth, MN as a Federal Technician in the Explosive Ordinance Disposal section. Jim was a part time Deputy for Douglas County Sheriffs Department, a Sergeant for the Lake Nebagamon Police Dept, and with the U.S. Federal Protective Service.

He married Susan Martineau on May 2, 1987 and celebrated twenty-six years of marriage.

Jim was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge #403 and a life member of the V.F.W.

In addition to his wife Susan, Jim is survived by four sons, Andrew (Becky), Duluth, James (Amy McCarthy), Duluth, Korri (Shawnu Albertus), Superior, and Marc, South Range; four grandchildren, Emma, Caroline, Zachary and Chloe; one brother, Gregory (Ruth Ann) Ksicinski, Milwaukee and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.

Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Jim’s grandchildren.
