James C. Moe

James C. Moe, 72, Superior resident, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.

He was born on February 11, 1942 in Duluth, MN to Oscar and Lillian (Boerger) Moe.

He graduated from high school and obtained his BA Degree in History from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

He served his country in the United States Army.

James was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. He loved history and playing chess and cribbage. He also really enjoyed raising his children.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary in 1984, daughter Lori Gilbert in 2002, son Billy Moe in 2009, brothers, Gary, Kenny, Gordy and Orrin Moe and sister Leona Mueller.

James is survived by three daughters, Terry Moorman and Mickey Saari, both of Superior, WI and Mary Moe, Virginia Beach; three sons, Tom (Lisa) Moe, South Range, WI and Gary and Michael Moe, both of Superior, WI; thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; sister, Merle Klask and brother, Stanley (Cheryl) Moe.

There will be a Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Life from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2014 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior.
