James Walter Soderlund

James Walter Soderlund, DDS, 83, lifelong area resident, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at his home in South Range, WI. He was born in Superior, March 30, 1937, the son of Edgar and Edna (Dunning) Soderlund.

He graduated from the former, Cathedral High School in Superior and went on to earn his Doctor of Dentistry degree from Marquette University. He was united in marriage to Vicki Roisum, December 12, 1973, and they were soon to celebrate forty-seven years of marriage.

Jim had a Dental Partnership with Dr. Art Marquart for many years in Superior. He was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic church, was involved in the Wisconsin Dental Association, the Duluth Dental Forum, served on the Board of Directors for Moneycorp Bank and its subsidiaries, and throughout his career many fraternal organizations. Jim loved to spend time with his family and friends at his family cabin on Spider Lake in Iron River, WI and winters in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and garage sales; was an avid golfer, and loved the Minnesota Vikings.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Soderlund, South Range, WI; children, Michael (Linda) Soderlund, Poplar, WI, Jeffrey Soderlund, Iron River, WI, Tim Soderlund, Racine, WI, Susan Slough, Glendale, AZ, Marie (Casey) Christenson, New Auburn, WI, and Robert (Melanie) Soderlund, Superior, WI; sister, Joan VanScoik, Mora, MN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many beloved family members.

A Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, Friday, November 6, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 4315 E. 3 ^rd Street, Superior. A Private Mass will be held later in the day for family only.

Burial will be in Nemadji Cemetery.
