Jane E. (Okash) Loyd

Jane E. (Okash) Loyd, 87, lifelong Superior resident, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior.

She was born on July 1, 1925 in Superior, WI to John and Hazel (Chase) Welch.

Jane loved playing bingo and smear. She was involved in several bridge clubs in the Twin Ports area. Jane’s home was always open to family and friends.
Her grandson Dominic cared and supported her at her home the last few years of her life.

Jane is survived by one daughter, Sheryl Okash, Glenwood, IA; two sons, Robert (Donna) and David Okash, both of Superior, WI; four grandchildren, Jody (Adil) Hasanoui, Rockville, MD, Lisa (Roger) Palmer, Dominic and Jonathan “JJ” Okash, all of Superior, WI; five great-grandchildren, Skye, Jade and Rosa Palmer, Laila and Hakim Hasanoui; one brother, Leonard “Lolly” Welch, Rhinelander, WI and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Michael Okash, second husband Wayne Loyd, her parents John and Hazel Welch, brothers Lester and Rodney Welch and sisters Vera Chiapusio, Arlette Karanokis, and Lois Freer.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 15, 2013 at United Presbyterian Church, 229 N. 28th Street, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM memorial service with Chaplain Ron Henley of Essentia Health officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
