Janet Sue Anderson

Janet Sue Anderson, 71, Superior WI gained her wings on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.  She had been diagnosed with two forms of aggressive cancer on October, 29, 2021.

She was born on, September 17, 1950, the daughter of Jack and Irene (Kirkwood) Freeland. Janet graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1968.  She was united into marriage to James H. Anderson Jr “Guppy” on March 1, 1969.  They celebrated over 52 years of marriage.

Janet was a bus driver for the Superior School District and retired after 30 years in 2012. She always had a passion for animals, especially horses and dogs.  Bringing many astray home unbeknown to Guppy.  Her favorite was her German Sheppard, Lanie.  She loved writing poems for special family events, so many memories captured with her words.  She enjoyed trips to the casino to play the machines.

Nothing warmed Janet’s heart more than the love of her grandchildren. She loved every minute she spent with them, and everyone knows not to mess with her babies.  She recently earned the title “Mimi Janet” given to her by her great- grandson, Stoney.  Janet was the rock of her family and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, “Guppy”; daughter, Angel (Kevin) Homich; grandsons, Ryan (Baylee) and Eric VanPuymbrouck; great-grandchildren, Stoney and Audree VanPuymbrouck; brothers, Jack (Sharon), and Tim and Pat Freeland; brother-in-law, Rickie (Vicki) Anderson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Irene Freeland; in-laws, James (Sam) and Lois Anderson; and brother-in-law, Jody Anderson.

Due to the Covid, a Celebration of Janet’s Life will be held at a later date.

Cremation Service of Superior, 403 E Street, is assisting the family with arrangements.
