Janet M. Nindorf

Janet M. Nindorf, 72, lifelong resident of Superior, WI, passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born in Superior June 5, 1946, the daughter of Raymond and Patricia (Grant) Schnell.

After high school she went on to earn her RN degree from St. Luke’s School of Nursing. Through the years she worked at Superior Memorial Hospital, the Duluth Clinic, and finally retiring from Miller Dwan Out Patient Surgery in 2007 after fifty years of service in health care.

Janet married Donald F. Nindorf on March 7, 1981, and they celebrated thirty-seven years of marriage before her passing. She was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church in Superior.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Don Nindorf; son, Scott (Lorie) Byrnes, Superior, WI; step-sons, Dan (Sue) Nindorf, Sanger, TX, Michael (Patty) Nindorf, Denver, CO, and Jon Nindorf (Faye), Superior, WI; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Mary) Schnell, Superior, WI, and John (Sara) Schnell, Appleton, WI; sister, Karen (Michael) Kraft, Superior, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Pat Schnell; and brother, Jim Schnell.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, 5601 Tower Avenue, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial. Rev. Fr. Ron Olson and Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci will concelebrate the Mass.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Superior this coming Spring.
