Janice E. Bozeman-Kelleher, Superior, WI, passed away at home on Thursday, August 27, 2014.
She was born on June 30, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of James and Bernice (Jones) Bozeman.
Janice devoted her life, personally and professionally, to helping others. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Counseling, she spent the next 40 years as a psychiatric nurse in various hospitals and owned her own counseling services business.
She spent much of her time with her community, students, local organizations and businesses teaching the importance of diversity and equality, often sharing her personal stories and experiences.
She met and married the love of her life, Tom Kelleher, on August 12, 1978 in Chicago, IL and celebrated 36 years of marriage.
They were blessed with one child, Jeremy, and shortly afterwards moved to Superior, WI, a place they had been drawn to for years due to their love of the outdoors, fishing and camping. Janice, her family, and pets traveled often.
She was a natural storyteller and her favorite memories to recount were those from their adventures, including a memorable honeymoon in Alaska and family road trips throughout Canada.
In addition to her husband Tom, son Jeremy and his girl friend,Kaitlyn Barnard, Janice is survived by her mother-in-law, Betty Kelleher, Fort Dodge, IA; four brothers-in-law, Kevin Kelleher, Lawrenceville, GA, Tim (Deb) Kelleher, Fort Dodge, IA, Steve Kelleher, Fort Dodge, IA, Robert (Linda) Kelleher, South Range, Wi; two sisters-in-law, Connie Driscoll, Fort Dodge, IA, Mary Chris (Arthur) Olsen, Green Bay, WI and many cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Leo Kelleher.
A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 29, 2014 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior, WI, 54880.
Visitation will continue at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 30, 2014 until the 11:00 A.M. Funeral Service, celebrating the Life of Janice with Father John Petrich, officiating.
